This pure organic low-fat cocoa powder with no added sugar reminds you of whole milk chocolate with a slightly tart taste. The cocoa is obtained primarily from Forastero beans hybridised with Trinidario. Pressing of the cocoa paste causes separation of cocoa butter and powder. Due to the powder’s fat content being lower than 20%, it is termed low-fat cocoa. It is well suited for preparation of warm drinking chocolate and for baking.
The cocoa is produced by El Ceibo in Bolivia. El Ceibo is a big association of some 50 cooperatives with about 1200 members, primarily indigenous small-scale farmers families.
