34 artists pay tribute to the basque musician and film director Fermín Muguruza and interprete a song of his former legendary bands Kortatu or Negu Gorriak or one of his songs from his solo records like Brigadistak Sound System, Euskal Herria Jamaica Clash or the record with DUT.
French label Sabor Discos teams up with German music collective Lucha Amada and their label Jumpup and put together a compilation with new versions of classics by Fermín Muguruza and his bands from the last forty years. Comes in a book format with a huge booklet with words from the bands and texts from writers Kirmen Uribe and Miquel Ramos about the impact of the internationalist Fermin Muguruza.
Artists from Basque country, Catalunia, Spain, Italy, France, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Chile, Germany and Japan translate one of Fermíns songs in their own style…and sometimes even in their own language! Appropriately we find translations into Mapudungun, the language of the Mapuche whose fight for their rights were always supported by Fermin, into french, italian or spanish. Or imagine Sarri Sarri in japanese. Fermíns network is worldwide. We also find artists for their first time singing in basque. Music as a transmitter for messages but also for languages…
