Why is a ‘Best Of’ album being released in 2026 for a band that split up in 2008? Because things haven’t improved; in fact, they seem to be getting worse and worse. Because the music and lyrics are actually relevant to the current situation, as crazy as that may sound. No Respect were lucky enough to grow up in a musically and politically thrilling and vibrant era from the 1980s into the 1990s, were inspired by many interesting musicians from the punk and ska scenes, and wanted to make our own contribution to this movement. They did that for over 15 years, with four releases, countless gigs and tours and were part of a youth and subculture that, for many young people worldwide, was like a wake-up call and sparked a politically rebellious and resolutely anti-racist movement. That is why this historical record with 21 of their most important songs now exists.
