Tadaa! Tadaaa ! We kept our word, even if it took us longer than expected! For almost a year Fire and Flames has been inactive…The reason for that: changes behind the scenes had to be made and have been made! Since June 2013, the comrades that founded FF in 2002 were no longer able to maintain and keep up the FF project for a bunch of reasons. But that’s not the end of the story! All participants agreed that in times like these, the mediation of anti-fascist and radical left counter-culture is more important than ever… and so a new collective was formed to take over and continue the Fire and Flames project! and will continue its appreciated work!
This transformation did not only require a long-time planning for the new collective, but also a relocation of FF from Goettingen to the northern city of Kiel. And because everything took a long time anyway, we put our efforts in a completely new website and onlineshop, which you can now see on your screens. You will discover, that the recontrstruction has not been finished yet. Some categories are still empty and the listings of our shop are far from being idenic with our real stock, especially concerning our well stocked music section. We invite you to see the shop growing within the next weeks. Tons of stuff is still waiting being hacked into the shop, some other stuff is still somewhere on its way to our headquarter.
But we could have avoided this pressure of time if we didn’t have some hammer in stock: some well chosen reprints from the big FF fund of the first eleven years and lots of other good stuff can already be found in our virtual boutique. To avoid boring days we first present our brandnew [back in black] edition. But don’t worry if it’s too dark for you, we also have some colored alternatives e.g. in the hoodies section. As you see: FF won’t not just be a question of style, the message counts.
Speaking of messages: Fire and Flames has always been a project of the antifascist, libertarian and militant left movement, and it will remain exactly that. Of course FF will support political mobilizations and projects also in the future. In an older FF catalog we have found some wise words of our old FF-comrades: „lifestyle can be revolutionary, but revolution is more than lifestyle!“. So we say: activism is not about wearing a political shirt or listening to the right music, but it can be communicated through it. Urgent social and political changes for a good life for all people on this planet will be enforced through daily resistance, organized countervailing power and a solidary practice. Feel called to be part of it! We deliver the fitting clothes and the soundtrack.
