“I enjoy making revolution! I enjoy going to football! When one has energy they disperse it every which way. I never understood those which separated these two worlds/universes.”
The perfect illustration of this statement by the operaist Toni Negri is a Zapatista wall mural in Chiapas, which a comrade reinterpreted in lovingly handwork for this shirt. “Long live the rebellious football” is of course not only a commitment to the round leather, which we ourselves like to chase after or cheer or boo people on, but also a rejection of the capitalization of this beautiful sport. We don’t want overpriced ticket prices, stupid kick-off times because of broadcasting rights and football in front of empty stands just to keep the show on. Football’s alienation from its fans is part of a capitalist alienation in which the market wants to structure and govern our whole lives. But we will continue to live rebellious football, on the football fields, in the ultra and fan groups and the self-organised clubs. Because we love the sport and the revolution!
