Abwärts can justifiably be called a pioneer of German-language punk rock. “Hurra” is the band’s seventh album from 1994, released exclusively as a CD and at the same time the final point of the cooperation with the major label EMI. “Hurra” is powerful, angry and disillusioned, settles accounts with the German conditions of the early nineties as well as with rock star clichés and is right on target with its prophetic dystopia “Europe”. True to style as a fat double LP in gatefold cover with revised artwork, all lyrics, download code and marbled colour vinyl. Plus bonus track “Grab dich selber ein” as an acoustic version.
